Late 1960s – A New Identity Takes Root

Milestone: Formation of a Board of Directors and mission expansion
Date: Circa 1969

As the decade closed, PSW formalized its leadership through the formation of a Board of Directors and a more expansive mission. This transition not only ensured long-term organizational integrity but also deepened the culture of collaboration. With stronger governance came greater capacity to act with compassion and develop services rooted in individual needs. PSW’s evolving identity reflected a place where everyone could belong—and where every voice mattered.
