Kendra is a shining example of how resilience, joy, and the right support can help someone truly thrive.
Kendra began attending PSW’s Lindsay Adult Day Program in August 2021, after previously participating in a day program in Porterville for over a decade. Her Individualized Support Team recognized that returning to an in-person setting would be beneficial for her, especially because Kendra is an incredibly social person who thrives on daily interaction, laughter, and connection.
From the moment she stepped through the doors at PSW, Kendra made herself right at home. Her very first day felt like a natural fit, as if she had always been part of the Lindsay family. She immediately began engaging with her new staff and peers, bringing a sense of ease and joy to the environment. There was no hesitation, no nervousness, just Kendra’s bright personality and wholehearted enthusiasm.
Kendra is known for her infectious sense of humor and generous spirit. Her laughter fills the program space, and she’s always ready to lend a hand to staff with day-to-day projects. One of her favorite activities is creating arts and crafts, proudly bringing her pieces home to decorate her room with creativity and pride.
She also loves getting out into the community, whether she’s shopping for supplies, enjoying a relaxing afternoon at the park, or participating in fun outings. Some recent highlights include attending the High-Five Rodeo in Woodlake and cheering on the Visalia Rawhide with her peers and staff, creating lasting memories, and sharing her excitement every step of the way.
Since 2017, Kendra has lived at KG’s Care Home, where she’s built a strong and supportive foundation. Through life’s many changes, Kendra has shown incredible adaptability and strength. Her continued success is a testament to the power of family, a caring home environment, and the positive impact of the Lindsay Adult Day Program team.
In her free time, Kendra enjoys visiting her parents, spending quality time with her sister Amy, and playing with Charlie, the beloved household pup. Whether she’s out on an adventure with her housemates or sharing a laugh at the day program, Kendra brings light and joy to everyone around her.
Kendra’s journey reflects the heart of PSW’s mission, helping individuals flourish through connection, opportunity, and compassionate support. With her vibrant spirit and loving community around her, there’s no doubt Kendra will continue to achieve great things.
