Success Story: Kimberly

A Journey of Dedication, Growth, and Independence

At PSW’s Club 194, where empowerment meets opportunity, we’re proud to celebrate the journey of Kimberly, known to friends and staff simply as Kim. Her story is one of commitment, community, and continued personal growth.

Kim began her career with PSW in 1999 as part of our Business Services team. Over the years, she built a rich and varied work history, contributing her skills across multiple departments. She worked at Value Village, on the Dairy Crew, and with Mobile Maintenance. She also spent time in the Assembly Department, where she played a key role in preparing advertisements for the Porterville Recorder, assembling agricultural supplies like Bowsmith sprinklers and rails, and completing labeling and mailing tasks for local businesses.

Today, Kim is a vibrant and valued part of Club 194, our Day Training Activity Center (D-TAC), where she thrives in a balanced routine of classroom learning, community engagement, and social interaction. She enjoys the variety that each day brings and has found a favorite pastime in diamond painting, a creative outlet she takes great pride in.

Outside of PSW, Kim’s life is just as full and joyful. She treasures time with her close-knit family, especially her eight nieces and one nephew. Weekly dinners with her mom and sister are a cherished tradition, and her faith plays a central role in her life. Kim is an active member of her church, attending regularly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.

Whether she’s spending time with friends, walking her dog Skippy, or cheering on her favorite teams — the San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Dodgers, Kim brings enthusiasm and warmth to every part of her life.

One of Kim’s proudest accomplishments came just one year ago, when she achieved a major personal goal: moving out on her own and living independently. This milestone is a powerful reflection of her hard work, determination, and the supportive community around her.

Kim’s story beautifully captures the spirit of PSW, where individuals are supported to grow, explore their potential, and celebrate every success along the way. Congratulations, Kim — we’re so proud of all you’ve achieved!
