Hands-On Work that Builds Confidence and Contribution

Real skills through real work that creates meaningful community impact

At PSW, we’re dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through meaningful, hands-on work experiences that foster independence, responsibility, and community engagement. Training in the Industrial & Environmental Services sector equips individuals with practical skills while contributing to a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable community.

By partnering with PSW, employers gain access to a trained, reliable workforce and help create opportunities for individuals who are eager to contribute, learn, and grow. Together, we can transform workplaces and build a stronger community.

On-the-Job Training Through PSW Run Businesses And Community Partnerships

PSW operates its own businesses to provide participants with real-world training under the guidance of experienced staff. Individuals gain job-specific skills, build confidence, and establish dependable work habits that prepare them for employment in industrial and environmental service industries.

Training areas include:

Recycling Operations at our Boomerang Recycling Facility

Individuals learn to sort, process, and handle recyclables, operate equipment, and support daily operations in a drive-through recycling facility. This fast-paced setting emphasizes efficiency, environmental responsibility, and customer service.

Document Shredding & Security at our Porterville Shred House Facility

Participants develop skills in secure document handling, shredding protocols, and workplace safety. This environment builds attention to detail, reliability, and confidentiality while supporting local businesses in protecting sensitive information

Through these hands-on experiences, individuals strengthen essential workplace skills like time management, task planning, safe equipment operation, and professional communication—all of which prepare them to join your business and contribute effectively.
