At PSW, we’re dedicated to building inclusive communities and equipping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities with practical skills that matter. Our retail training programs prepare individuals for real jobs in the retail sector through meaningful work experiences and hands-on training.
We maintain a pipeline of talented, motivated individuals who are gaining experience across retail operations and who are eager to contribute to local businesses. Employers partnering with PSW gain access to a diverse pool of potential employees who bring enthusiasm, reliability, and a fresh perspective to the workplace.
Much of our training occurs within PSW-operated businesses, where individuals receive professional instruction and on-site job coaching.
At our Value Village Thrift Store, trainees develop skills in inventory management, customer service, donation processing, merchandising, and point-of-sale systems. These experiences cultivate strong communication, teamwork, and workplace adaptability.
At our Sunshine Laundry Service, individuals gain exposure to customer interactions, garment care, machinery operation, and maintaining quality standards. This structured, supportive environment helps trainees build confidence, establish dependable routines, and acquire transferable skills relevant to retail and service industries.
By the time individuals complete training in these environments, they are better prepared to transition into roles within your business, ready to make a meaningful contribution from day one.
PSW actively partners with local businesses to expand training and employment opportunities beyond our own walls. These collaborations help bridge the gap between training and meaningful, long-term employment in the community.
Our Employment Development team works closely with both the employer and the individual to ensure placements are tailored to business needs and participant strengths. We provide guidance, support, and on-the-job coaching to promote success for everyone involved.
